The annual “Taste of Summer” fundraiser for the Le Mars Little League was held Saturday February 2, 2019. It was the 24th year anniversary of this GREAT event which has been sponsored by Bob’s Drive Inn and the American Legion Post 241, the event was originally started in 1996 by Dan Hoppe, Myles and Roberta Kass, John Britton and the American Legion Post 241 with the purpose of raising funds for the Little League program in Le Mars.
This year’s event was held at Bob’s Drive Inn, we had the Bob’s Drive Inn crew making those wonderful “Bob’s Dogs”, the American Legion providing the delivery, the Little League Board taking care of the serving, and the general public supporting this event, it just proves what can be accomplished when the community comes together.
This year, we sold out of 90 dozen “Bob’s Dogs” in just 2.5 hours and raised $3,417.00 – bringing the 24th year total to $82,094.06.
On behalf of the Le Mars Little League, we would like to offer a “special” thank you to Roberta Kass, Nathan and Tana Kass and the entire Kass Family. Along with the Bob’s Drive Inn crew including Charmaine Kass, Dan Hoppe, Dylan Kass, Cael Kass, Josie Holzman, Steph Williams, Sheila Williams, Shaunna Scheitler, Tara Ladeuthin, Rylie Thiesan, Abbie Vaskie, Sami McKinney and Marleen Baugous.
